Website technical SEO and GEO checks have been significantly expanded
Intrix has expanded its website technical SEO and GEO checks to cover incorrect canonical declarations, body heading structure, visible breadcrumbs, and pages with nearly identical content. Website diagnosis is included in paid measurement services such as First Check and Regular Compare. Reports include the new findings and examples of pages to fix.
Find duplicate URLs and incorrect canonical declarations
The expanded checks identify URLs that show the same content but lack consistent canonical declarations, including URLs that differ only in color or sorting parameters or letter case. They also flag pages with distinct content declared as copies of another URL, which can cause them to be excluded from search. This includes later pages in a listing declared as copies of the first page.
These additions extend the existing canonical checks to help you review which URLs should be grouped together and which pages should remain separate.
Review body headings and visible breadcrumbs
Search engines and AI use headings to read content in sections. The checks now flag skipped heading levels in the body and long passages without subheadings. Headings in the site header, navigation, and footer are excluded.
They also check whether inner pages show a visible breadcrumb trail, such as Home > Category > Current page. Previously, the checks covered only breadcrumb structured data (BreadcrumbList). Reports now also identify visible trails and separately count pages that have breadcrumb structured data without a visible trail.
Find similar content even when titles differ
Alongside the existing checks for matching page titles and descriptions, Intrix now identifies groups of pages with nearly identical body content. This covers duplication that titles alone may not reveal, such as pages that differ only in a location or product name. Shared elements such as navigation and footers are excluded from the comparison.
The new items extend the existing checks for robots.txt, sitemaps, canonical URLs, search exclusion settings, language settings (hreflang), missing page handling (404), page titles and descriptions, image descriptions (alt), structured data, and AI crawler access. Pages excluded from search (noindex) and pages such as terms and privacy policies are excluded from assessment.
Compare earlier results and review pages to fix
The scoring approach remains unchanged, so you can compare results with earlier checks. First Check and Regular Compare reports include the new findings and examples of pages to fix. Before release, we compared findings from live websites with the actual pages one by one and corrected cases that had been flagged incorrectly.
To review your website’s condition and discuss improvements, talk to Intrix. We review your website before the meeting and discuss the findings with you during it; a report is not sent immediately by email. Intrix measures how AI answers mention, describe, and cite your business, diagnoses gaps, and recommends practical GEO improvements. To begin paid measurement, see First Check.
